About

History

The annual Feast for the Children luncheon fundraiser was started in 2010 to benefit the Grace Children's Hospital in Haiti after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated the island. Over 5 million residents were displaced, 250,000 people were killed, and like so many other buildings on the island, the hospital was severely damaged. Each year, Via Maestra 42 and the First United Methodist Church host the benefit luncheon which has supported a number of relief efforts both locally and internationally. Recent beneficiaries include; The Grace Fisher Foundation, The Unity Shoppe (after the Montecito debris flow), the Camp Fire Relief Fund (benefiting those displaced by the fires in Northern California), last year and again this year, partnering with The Unity Shoppe to support residents of our Santa Barbara community at a time when the need has never been greater. Last year $10,600 was raised and donated to Unity Shoppe. This year, with your support and the new drive thru contactless food pick-up approach, we are hoping to raise even more funds to assist those in our community most in need.
